The Teacher's Geek

The Teacher's Geek began after a public school teacher from North Clayton High School and a researcher from Georgia Tech Research Institute partnered on a project which involved a survey of Open Source and related technologies. As the project progressed, the teacher was amazed at the wealth of tools available.

While preparing a presentation summarizing their project for the GaETC Conference 2008, this educator and researcher decided create a website dedicated to finding and sharing technology resources for the classroom. The goals for The Teacher's Geek are as follows:

• Develop a community of educators and "geeks" that find and share relevant technologies
• Assist in reducing the expense of technological tools in education
• Increase students' access to technology in the classroom
